BiogasAccepted   Work program

Work program

The project consists of 8 work-packages, 3 of them following a phases’ sequence, and 4 operating in parallel.

  • Phase I, first half year: SETTING UP
    • Work Package 2: Selection of cases and potential analysis.
A common understanding of the case selection will be achieved, the regions and partners therein will be contacted and informed, potentials for biogas applications will be summarized. At the end, selected cases will be well prepared for further activities in course of the action.
    • Work Package 3: Demands for Applications.
Technical and socio-economic demands of the actors in the country / region will be surveyed. Hindrances and demands for technologies and confidence in technologies will be analysed, concerning heating and cooling of buildings, feeding biogas into the natural gas grid, using it for vehicle propulsion.
  • Phase II, second half year: TOOL DEVELOPMENT
    • Work Package 4: Acceptance Tool Adaptation.
An acceptance tool will be made available for the regions partnering, and the technologies and biogas applications related. The acceptance tool will consist of a questionnaire for end-users and suppliers, an evaluation software available on-line, and a manual how to interpret results and steer the regional communication process. The biogas acceptance tool will build on an already existing tool that has been proved in Austria, and will by be adapted to the demands of the participating European countries and biogas applications.
  • Phase III, third and forth half year: TOOL APPLICATION
    • Work Package 5: Case studies of Application.
The tool will be applied in cases, in each of the 6 countries involved. We expect to co-operate closely together with representatives of the projects’ supply chain, with local politicians, municipal authorities, regional managers, local media, and address the end-users by means of questionnaires, feed-back on results and public presentations.
  • Phase IV, fifth half year: EVALUATION
    • Work Package 6: Governance and Legislation Consequences.
This work package, which already started earlier, will now elaborate consequences and recommendations for provincial, national and European politics. In each country round tables will be held in order to analyse strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for making biogas applications more common and utilised. The work package will start already in phase II, but yield its main results in phase IV.

  • Work Packages in parallel of the whole action
    • Work Package 1: Project Management:
This will include the installation of a Management Board for efficient decision making, the organization of meetings on a half year base, the financial management, and the administrative management. Outcomes will be also Coordinators announcements for monitoring and controlling the work progress, and a manual at the kick-off. The project partners will exchange views and search interlinkages and synergies with other IEE projects on biogas, visiting their event occasions.
    • Work Package 7: Dissemination:
These activities accompany the entire project in an order related to the phases. Main activities will be to create a corporate project identity for dissemination, to circulate information on the project in order ton inform municipal politicians, public administrators and regional managers; to establish a web-site and link it to others, to present results at regional public events, to conduct press conferences, disseminate press releases, and communicate result to competent national representatives. A downloadable handbook and print flyers will summarise the results.
    • Work Package 8: Common Dissemination Activities:
This WP guarantees a decent communication and link to IEEA activities.
