 Meetings

The first project meeting was held in Schlierbach, Austria from 8. – 9. October 2007. There we have visited a biogas plant in Schalchen (Upper Austria). Mr. Schnellberger, owner of the biogas plant has explained the situation with the acceptance of the biogas plant by the neighbours. He has said that almost all neighbours are very positive thinking opposite the biogas plant and some of the neighbours are connected to the local heat supply net, operated by him. See pictures under “Photogallery”.
The second project meeting was held in Warsaw (Poland) from 3. – 5. March 2008. There we have visited a local sewage plant, which are also producing sewage gas. The operator of the plant has explained that they have problems with the acceptance of the plant. Therefore they are making periodically information events to convince the neighbours of the advantage of this sewage plant.
The third project meeting was held in Szeged (Hungary) from 22. – 23. September 2008. The project partners have visited a biogas plant in Klarafalva. The facility consists of a 2.500 m3 main mesophilic fermentor and a 200 m3 experimental set-up. Biogas production started in 2007 at this site, which is at a safe distance from the nearby village and therefore has no acceptance problems .The Partners also visited the biogas research laboratories at the University of Szeged and inspected the instrumentation for the measurement of various parameters for the quality control of the biogas plants and the array of 15 custom made laboratory size (5 liters), continuously fed biogas fermenters
The fourth project meeting was in Komarno (Slovakia) from 9. – 10. February 2009. There was a trip to the nearest Biogas Plant in Hurbanovo operated by Mr. Stifner. The project partners were guided on the whole area of the plant and informed generally about the technology systems used in the plant. There were no problems detected in the area of biogas production and use. There was no opposition from the neighbours although the plant is about 500-800m far from the neighbours.
The fifth project meeting was held in Barcelona on 30. June 2009. We have spoken about the next steps in work-package 5, 6 and 7. Finally we have visited the Planta die Biometanització i Compostatge de ”CAN BARBA”.
The sixth project meeting was again in Schlierbach from 8. - 9. October 2009. In this meeting we have discussed the next steps to fulfill all objectives of the project. There was also a phone call with our scientific officer Mr. Dubolino, where open questions were discussed.
The last meeting was in Treviso from 14. – 15. February 2010. Here we have spoken about finalizing all deliverables and the final report. We had an excursion to the biogas plant of Stalla Sociale di Monastir. The building of the plant started in 2008 and was completed in November 2009.
